Unbeknownst to us, the oysters made a pact with the grill to save them from death by flame. I tried for 10 minutes to get a fire started, and on one of my last tries I lit a match and got a spark in my face. Almost lost me left eye, and if I had there'd be a blinder man before you today. Evil grill.

Eventually I won and cooked the poor bastards.

Hog Island

During this weekend's mega crab feast (amazing in its own rite), the discussion turned to Hog Island and their world famous oysters (why we were talking about food in the middle of food, I don't know). Between my coworker, his fiancée, and myself, we finished off 100 delectable bivalves (the workers were in awe). This is their story.

Meet the kumamotos. They didn't last long.
